Boutique Holidays In Turkey Years of Local Experience for your Holiday

Walk Overview / Highlights - Visit the Gelidonya Lighthouse then Continue to Adrasan (Hotel) This is what the Lycian Way is all about. This is a long and sometimes challenging walk into the wilderness. The route starts on Cape Gelidonya with great views of the Toros Mountains behind Finike. From here a short climb takes us to the Gelidonya Lighthouse. The 9m high picture book lighthouse was built in 1936 and has become the iconic symbol of the Lycian Way. From the lighthouse a steep climb takes us to the top of Taslik Burnu (Stony Point). From here you have great views back over the lighthouse and out to 5 Islands and the treacherous currents between the Islands and the Cape. Ahead of you is a journey into a totally unspoiled area of forest and cliff top trails with glimpses out to sea between the pines. After a winding descent to a pine clad valley a steady climb takes you past views out to Water Island to a saddle at 490m, the high point of the route. From here the views are over the sandy bay at Adrasan to Mt. Olympos in the distance as well as Musa Dagi and Eren Tepe on the far side of the bay. A gentle meander down through the forest leads you back to your hotel and cool beer by the pool.  From Gelidonya Point To Adrasan Transfer Times (Out / In) 40mins / 0mins Distance 17km Duration 5.5hrs Max Height 490m Total Ascent 780m Total Descent 640m  Terrain This a good hard mountain walk, almost entirely on narrow goat tracks.
